PhD Student – ECLectic (10 positions)

The University of Bologna is pleased to announce 10 three-year positions for PhD degrees as part of the Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action Doctoral Network (HE-MSCA DN) entitled «ElectroChemiLuminescence doctoral network for early sepsis diagnosis» (ECLectic). These positions are set to commence in June/November 2024.

ECLectic, coordinated by the University of Bologna, is a doctoral training network. Through an ambitious multidisciplinary doctoral program, it aims to train the next generation of clinically oriented analytical scientists capable of delivering innovative solutions. These solutions are expected to improve the lives of patients, reduce healthcare costs, and position Europe as a leader in biomedical devices.

Requirements: Research Field: Other Education Level: Master Degree or equivalent

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Specific Requirements: Candidates must hold a Master’s degree (Specific degrees depending on the positions – For more information see the project’s website) with excellent academic transcripts. The position seeks highly motivated and outstanding candidates with optimal interpersonal and communication skills.

All candidates must prove full proficiency in spoken and written English.

Languages: ENGLISH Level: Excellent

Eligibility criteria:

Starting dates of the projects will be between June 1st and November 1st, 2024. To be eligible for all positions (DC1-10), the applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

  • They must not be already in possession of a doctoral degree.
  • They must comply with the MSCA mobility rule: not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the three years immediately prior to the date of the recruitment.

Applicants who will complete their Master’s degree by the deadline for enrollment in the PhD program are also entitled to apply.

RECRUITMENT CALENDAR:

  • Call opening: 8th March 2024
  • Deadline for applications: 26th April 2024
  • 1st stage evaluation: 3rd – 8th May 2023
  • Interviews: 13rd May 2024 – 20th May 2024 (selected candidates will receive notice of at least 10 days prior to the interview)
  • Notification to candidates: 27th May 2023
  • Start date of the fellowship: June/November 2024
